Topics to be discussed at the classes of the Club:


  1. Introductory lesson. Subject and time. What history is. Legend of the subject. Home museum: things which cherish family history. Relics.
  2. Ancient history of prinevsky lands. From the Ice Age to the first settlements.
  3. Archeology as a science. Subject matter. Famous archeological finds and discoveries, their effect on the historical science development. Archeological finds on the territory of the north-west of Rus.
  4. Urban architecture. Places of archeological finds in Petersburg and oblast. Archeological finds at Okhta.
  5. Visit to Petropavlovskaya fortress. Acquaintance with archeological finds of Zayachy (hare) Island.
  6. Ancient tribes living at prinevsky territory. Their way of life, customs, tempers and faith.
  7. Varangians, Slavs, ancient Finns. Trade route along the Neva.
  8. Novgorod the Great and its neighborhood.
  9. Trade relations and commercial treaties of the Novgorod people. War and Peace.
  10. Crusaders and Crusades at Rus. Alexander Nevsky.
  11. Visit to Alexandro-Nevskaya lavra.
  12. Landscrona and Vyborg. Ivan Grozny. Construction of stone fortresses in the north-west of Rus.
  13. Visit to Museum of Artillery.
  14. Troublous time at Rus. Construction of Nienshants and Nien.
  15. Secrets of Nienshants. Bustions of the fortress. The class is conducted by archeologist, historian, author of the permanent exposition of the Museum Petr Sorokin.
  16. Trip to the fortress “Oreshek”.
  17. Trip to the archeological excavations in Old Ladoga. Occupation of archeologist. Children are invited to take part in the archeological excavations.
  18. Meeting with the historical club “Vityaz” (reconstruction of the costumes dated 10-14th centuries).
  19. Modern Okhta.


In addition to the classes conducted in the Museum and walks to the Okhta, the Museum is scheduled to go on excursions to the exhibitions of the other Museums collecting information within the areas of interest (The State Museum for History of St. Petersburg, the Military and Sea Museum, the Museum of Artillery and others).
